‘Perth Harmony Chorus is an exciting, award winning  Chorus performing four-part a cappella harmony in the Barbershop style.  Members of  Sweet Adelines International, our fine harmonies and dynamic energy have seen us win in 2013, our eighth Gold Medal as Australian Chorus Champions.

We are 100 + regular women of all ages from all walks of life, who take every opportunity of performing  -  for functions, Festivals and events, always happy to share our love of singing with the Community.

Committed to the highest standards of musical excellence, education and personal growth, we work hard but are also committed to having fun together. New members are welcome and training is provided. A basic requirement is a love of singing (and a background in School or Community Choirs  is also helpful –even if from long ago!)

Calling all Choirs/Ensembles/Groups

Voice Moves will be hosting our usual Winter and Christmas Choir Bashes this year and an additional Spring Bash to be held in Beverley.

Choir Bash Dates
Winter Bash – Sunday 7th July, 2 – 4.30pm Riverton Baptist Church
Spring Bash – Sunday 29th Sept, 3 – 5.30pm Beverley Platform Station Arts Theatre
Christmas Bash – Sunday 1st Dec, 2 – 4.30pm Riverton Baptist Church

To be assured a place on the program, choirs/ensembles/groups will need to lodge an expression of interest as soon as possible and at a later date provide a list of the songs that they would like to perform. Each choir will be given approx. 15 minutes to perform. New choirs or ‘fledgling groups’ are encouraged to participate even if you only have 2 or 3 songs ready for performance, this is a great opportunity to come along an experience the excitement of performing, and at the same time hear some wonderful choral groups. The choirs are each other audience and at the end of your performance there is an expectation that you will stay to appreciate the other groups singing at the bash.

They rehearse at the Gilbert and Sullivan Hall, Lemana Road, Nollamara from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with a refreshment break. Under the baton of Janis Laing an exciting line-up of performances is planned for the year, commencing with a fun-filled programme entitled Nautical but Nice! Janis is putting the repertoire together to include excerpts from HMS Pinafore and South Pacific along with lots of other songs and ensembles with a nautical flavour. All rollicking good fun!

The Savoy Opera Chorale meets for a 7.30pm start every Wednesday at the Society headquarters. New members are always welcome! People are encouraged to come along for the first couple of weeks or so to get a feel for the choir before needing to join.

It is important to the development of the choir and indeed of the Society that members maintain a professional attitude, but the choir is also a social forum where many close friendships and relationships have developed.
