The Heritage Country Choir is a band of friendly, jovial music lovers who range in age from 25 to 70 yrs young. We are a participation choir (no audition) who welcome and encourage all singing abilities, so all you need is a love of singing. We will encourage and teach you to sing in 4 part harmony – Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass and make beautiful music. At present we have about 22 members.
Our Vision: To enjoy the fun of singing together in harmony.
To improve our singing and develop our musical skills.
To foster a stronger community spirit through the love of music.
We perform at numerous events for our local community. ANZAC Day and Australia Day Ceremony for our local Serpentine/Jarrahdale Shire. Local markets and fairs – the S/J Markets and Bedfordale Markets, Byford Multicultural Festival, Byford Carols by Torchlight, Armadale Kelmscott Memorial Hospital and Retired and Aged People’s Homes, Memorials and our Annual Concerts.
Profits from our annual concerts are donated to various local charitable causes.
The choir formally came into being on July 14th 1998. Our 20th Anniversary concert in 2018, was a huge success being a reunion celebration with past members attending a workshop to revive past favourites. “When the Saints Go Marching In, On a Wonderful Day, Puttin’ On the Ritz, Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel, Clap Your Hands” to name a few. We rehearse each Wednesday at 7.15 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. at Briggs Park Pavilion (off Mead St), Byford.
